Details

    • Must be an independently licensed professional with mental health services as part of their scope of practice, hold an associates license, or be an approved graduate student.

    • Participants must attend all days and complete the 10 consultations (over Zoom) to get credit for the course.

    • 20 hours of classroom, 20 of practicum, and 10 consultations.

    • 10 hours of consultation are required in order to complete this training. Your payment covers those consultations only within the timeframe of the 11 weeks following the training.

    • CE’s Participants will receive 40 CE’s through NBCC

    • Second year and above students only

    • You must include a copy of your transcripts, practicum or internship details and letter from your supervisor which includes the supervisor’s license information and number stating you may take the course and will have clients with whom you will be able to use EMDR.

    • Define and describe EMDR

    • Understand the history and origins of EMDR

    • Understand and apply the AIP model

    • Conduct case conceptualization and treatment planning based on the AIP model

    • List and explain the EMDR model – 8 Phases

    • Support, through research, EMDR effectiveness

    • Conduct Resource Development

    • Determine client readiness for processing

    • Conduct an EMDR based client clinical history.

    • Identify potential targets and touchstone memories for EMDR processing

    • Understand legal and ethical issues related to EMDR

    • Identify protocols and strategies for special populations and situations

    • Understand difficulties associated with dissociative disorders and EMDR

    • Understand, recognize, and process an abreaction

    • Understand and apply strategies for closing sessions

    • Apply techniques such as a cognitive interweave, to counter blocking, looping challenges, and other situations that may arise in processing traumatic memories

  • Yes! We are active within the EMDRIA community and fulfill yearly requirements and recommendations with EMDRIA.

  • Yes! Some other programs may provide less training hours, however, they are not EMDRIA approved. You'll be able to experience the quality of training with VIA, making the most of your time, energy and resources.

  • No. Unfortunately we are unable to make accommodations for missing any of the training per EMDRIA guidelines. 

  • Yes! We will equip you with next steps following training. Allowing you to feel complete confidence by the end of the week. 

  • Yes! Whatever modality you practice will be further appreciated and enhanced with the 8-phrase EMDR modality. EMDR is an eclectic modality, complimentary to other modalities you practice and celebrate.   

  • No! We take pride in providing rich, safe, fun and diverse experiential learning. Our small cohort's form meaningful connections, and we provide an authentic style beginning to end.

Please know that payment must be made in full to register.

Participants must complete all 40 hours of training and 10 hours of consultation within 12 months of the start of this training.

Refunds in full are possible up until 2 weeks prior to the training. After that no refunds will be provided.
